Details
This full-day course provideed attendees with the technical information
needed to create a their own compelling, scalable, interactive VR
applications using VR Juggler. The course began with the foundations
needed for building VR Juggler applications. It followed with a session on
VR Juggler scalability from shared memory high-end workstations to clusters
of commodity PCs. The course concluded with advanced VR Juggler embedded
features such as scalable graphical user interfaces and virtual characters.
Through this course, participants were taught how to take advantage of
VR Juggler's features in their own applications. The first half of the
course covered the fundamental concepts:
- Introduction to VR Juggler suite
- Running a VR Juggler application
- Framework overview
- Writing VR Juggler applications using OpenGL and
OpenSG®
- In-depth VRJConfig usage
In the seond half, we explained more advanced topics:
- VR Juggler on PC clusters
- 2D and 3D interaction using
Tweek
- Sound in VR Juggler using
Sonix
- Adding virtual humans to VR Juggler applications using
vjAvatar
- Presentation of various uses of VR Juggler
