Q: Why doesn't VjControl run on Win32?

Has anyone managed to get VjControl to run on a win32 machine from the latest 1.0.6 release? My development setup is: JDK1.2.2, Vj1.0.6 (.NET release build), MS .NET

However when I attempt to run vjcontrol I get the usual NoClassDefError often seen, however as best as I can see all the JDK_HOME, and VJ_BASE_DIR are set correctly. Also I can compile a simple java file and execute it from that directory so I assume my java setup is fine.

This error has also been seen:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
        at javax.swing.ImageIcon.<init>(ImageIcon.java:138)
        at VjGUI.Core.initialize(Core.java:150)
        at VjGUI.VjControl.main(VjControl.java:80)

Anyone any ideas?

A: The VjControl.jar shipped with VR Juggler 1.0.6 and 1.0.7 for Visual Studio 7.0 (.NET 2002) is corrupt.

The original build of VR Juggler 1.0.6 made with Visual Studio 7 contains an invalid VjControl.jar file. A new copy of vrjuggler-1.0.6.win32-vc7.zip was uploaded to Source Forge at approximately 16:00 UTC, July 5, 2002. If you downloaded the file prior to that date, you will not be able to run VjControl. You can either download the newer ZIP file or use a copy of VjControl.jar from a different 1.0.6 build.

Further complicating the issue is that we have tried to maintain two scripts for running VjControl: a UNIX sh script and a DOS batch file. At this time, we do not have anyone who can regularly test the Win32-specific pieces of VR Juggler.
