Full story

The rewritten Flock of Birds driver only works with newer versions of the FoB firmware. Given the difficulty of updating the firmware for this hardware, the driver needs to be extended to detect the firmware revision and act accordingly. This means it should utilize auto-configuration features if the firmware allows it. Otherwise, it should use information from the configuration element to fill in the missing configuration information. Furthermore, it needs to be tested with an ERT to ensure that it works with that configuration.
