Full story
Occasionally, a simulated analog input needs to have an initial value other than 0.0. Make the inital value of each input on simulated analog devices configurable.
Implementation notes
It appears that the current implementation of the min/max value of inputs on Analog devices is global for all inputs on that device. This should be changed. It would be best if it is modified before the initial value property is be added.
After discussion with AronBierbaum, it was decided that it was ok for there to be single a min/max/inital_value setting that is used for all the inputs on a device. If the user needs the inputs to be differing, they can create more SimAnalog? devices.
It turns out that the simulated analog device was completely broken such that it always normalized the input values down to zero every time a sample was taken. This delayed the completion of this story by at least 3 hours.
